How We Rank

Truck AI Guide is written for one reader: the owner-operator or small-fleet owner deciding where to spend money on software. Load boards, ELDs, fuel cards, bookkeeping, dispatch tools — every review on this site exists to answer one question: is this worth your money?

We’re not a tech blog. We’re drivers and small operators who got tired of buying software on marketing claims. So we built the review site we wished existed.

How we pick products

We start with the products drivers actually ask about — in truck stops, in Facebook groups, on the road. Then we rank them on honest per-dollar math: what does it cost, what does it save you, and what’s the catch.

Independent, always. No vendor pays for placement. Rankings are never for sale, and no one on this site can buy their way to the top.

Vendor claims vs. verified numbers. When a company publishes a number — “average savings of 59¢/gal,” “$38/month” — we quote it and we name the source. When a number only exists in third-party reviews, we say so, and we hedge it. If we couldn’t verify it, we tell you that too.

Averages are not rates. “Average savings” means some drivers save more and some save less. We read the footnotes so you don’t have to — survey dates, sample sizes, and “not a guarantee of future pricing” caveats all get called out in plain English.

Fees matter as much as prices. A $0 transaction fee, a per-swipe charge, a monthly plan — these erase discounts at the margin, so they’re part of every verdict.

How we verify prices and claims

Every price and claim is checked against the vendor’s official page before publication, and we date the checks (“Sept 2026”). Vendor pages change — when we catch a number that’s gone stale, we correct the article and say what changed. We re-check prices and claims on a schedule, because a 2026 review with 2024 numbers is worse than no review at all.

What we don’t do

No paid placements. No sponsored rankings. Ever.

No invented prices, capabilities, or statistics. If it’s not on an official page or a named source, it’s hedged or it’s out.

No affiliate links slipped in quietly. (More on that below.)

Update policy

Software pricing moves. We re-verify the numbers in our reviews on a rolling schedule, and when a vendor changes a price or pulls a claim, we update the article and note it. If you spot something outdated, tell us — corrections go live fast.
